Lodi - New York: Reviews & Ratings
Lodi is located in the heart of Rockefeller Center! The atmosphere is stunning, and you can dine right in front of the tree! The service was great and the food was delicious. Serving sizes are on the smaller side. Definitely get a pasta dish. The octopus was tender and delicious. It's absolutely beautiful for the Christmas season. The appetizer caponata was the best I ever tasted!
A lovely ambiance facing Rockefeller center the food portions were small but they were all yummy. They have great pastries and a Cafe. The meat and cheese selection were my favorite. Good spot for Catch-ups coffee, and lunch .
I had dinner at Lodi last night, and it was a pleasant, albeit somewhat average, experience. The location is wonderful and central. It is also very convenient to many midtown activities. We started with cocktails, which all were very well made. My friend had a Gibson and said the cocktail onions were particularly delicious. We then shared the housemade ricotta, squash salad, and the meatballs. The ricotta was nothing special and lacked some flaky salt. What really bothered me was that there were 4 of us, and they served it with 3 SMALL pieces of bread. They then had the nerve to charge us $5 for a small bread plate when we asked for more. It clearly was not enough for the amount served…not a good look. The squash salad was also small for the price, and it had 3 leaves of lettuce over the squash. Though pretty, it was impractical. The meatballs, finally, were the right size and expected amount and quite good (they also came with more bread, something that was not volunteered when asking for more with the ricotta). We then each had an entree: the pomodoro, cacio e Pepe, pici, and chicken Milanese. All the pastas were good if slightly average, the pomodoro seemed to be the favorite. The chicken was the highlight for me as it was well prepared and the sauces gave it some interesting bites. We rounded out the meal with coffee and a slice of dessert. Overall the service was decent. For the price point, there is far better Italian to be had in NYC, you are paying for the locale.
Ok, listen, first of all, I did not care for the martini, and these guys came back with it. Some of the best oysters we’ve ever had. The meatballs were to die for, the arancini were…was, one, there was one of them. But it was delicious. And different with the chili. Old fashioned was right on and the staff was perfect. Highly highly recommend.
Love the location in Rockefeller Center near the Today Show windows. We had dinner and were seated inside the main restaurant (it is very small inside). The restaurant is beautiful, with lots of windows so we could enjoy the view. The server was friendly and answered all of our questions. We arrived during Happy Hour so we ordered the appetizer: Chips, Nuts, and Olives. Basically store bought potato chips, peanuts that were roasted and crunchy, and a selection of different olives. Then we order the bread (it did not come with the meal) but well worth it. Sesame bread and focaccia served with olive oil. Very fresh and served warm from the oven. Our main meals were just okay. The gnocchi was served with leeks, broccoli, pine nuts and truffle oil. Very good and very rich in flavor. I would have preferred a little more leeks and broccoli, they were basically lacking. The Lasagna Bolognese was very meaty, almost the main ingredient, but seasoned well. And the Spaghetti Pomodoro was just that, pasta with tomato, parm, basil and seasoned well. Over all we were satisfied but not overwhelmed.
We spent about 6 hours in the city and decided to try Lodi due to its good location. The service was friendly, but my food arrived cold, and we weren’t served any bread—while the table next to us got it twice. The milanesa and fries were poor quality, though the octopus was very tasty. I wouldn’t return.
Convenient location by Rockefeller, not busy (Sunday brunch) so seated immediately, attentive & quick service, food was tasty & good quality. As per some of the other comments the bread (offered to my Husband with his modest portion of frittata) seemed an after thought, is it free/included in the price, we didn't know at the time. Worth a visit if you want something a bit more special. Prices comparable with similar higher end dining experiences in the area.
Absolutely delicious food. Would definitely dine here again. Staff are very welcoming as well.

What stands out here? The pasta! Diners rave about the housemade ricotta, enjoyed with a distinguished taste paired with rich sauces. The cacio e pepe and pomodoro are highlights, each embodying the essence of Italian comfort food. The meatballs and chicken Milanese receive similar acclaim for their flavorful preparations and delightful textures. However, it's essential to note that some plates may lack the generous portions one might expect, as several reviews pointed out. Tread carefully with bread requests, as it could travel into added costs.
For those seeking something beyond pasta, the delightful octopus is noted for its tenderness, and the arancini, though served in modest quantities, is described as a unique and flavorful bite.
